The Star Wars fanbase is gearing up with anticipation for the second and final season of Andor. The teaser trailer dropped and made the faithful fans excited for the upcoming season.

The editors at Lucasfilm made an interesting choice, opting to go with a rock song in the trailer rather than the traditional music we often see in Star Wars teasers. It was a bold choice that worked and provided a spark for the upcoming season, showing once again how Andor continues to break new ground in Star Wars storytelling.

The song featured throughout the promo is three-time Grammy award winner Steve Earle's "The Revolution Starts Now." The lyrics written to protest America's invasion of Iraq speak of the growing rebellion of the show and how its main character, Cassian Andor, continues his path toward becoming a leader.

The lyrics are not only about rebellion but the choice to take a stand against oppression. The song speaks to the growing climate for both the franchise and the world at large. At a time when a small portion of the fanbase on YouTube is upset about the growing diversity and storytelling that strays away from the Skywalker saga, the trailer and song choice speaks to how powerful Andor and its message have become. Also, in a political climate where certain liberties are under attack, this could be the right show at the right time to give many people hope and to have a voice.

The trailer for Skeleton Crew also featured a rock song. It was "Major Tom, Coming Home" by Peter Schilling, which was re-recorded in Huttese. It was the perfect 80s song, which went well with the Amblin theme and elements of Skeleton Crew.

These rock music choices speak to the growing changes in the franchise and to the youth movement and growing choice of rebellion. Earle himself has been an activist during certain periods throughout his career. Whether it's the Mod Squad in The Book of Boba Fett, Daisy Ridley's performance as Rey, or Andor's thematic elements, the franchise has become both more youthful and engaging to younger fans.

Andor's first season was well-received by both audiences and critics alike. The trailer itself displayed reviews from various critics and has an exciting feel to it which gives the fanbase a lot to look forward to for the groundbreaking series.

The second season is set to premiere on April 22nd of 2025 on Disney+.
